Ingredients
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup shortening
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 1 egg
- 1¼ cups flour
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
Directions
- Cream together sugar, brown sugar, shortening, and peanut butter until smooth.
- Beat in egg.
- Add flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix until combined.
- Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Roll dough into balls and place on baking sheet. Press with a fork to make the classic crosshatch pattern.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes until golden. Let cool on pan.
