Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1¼ cups flour
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder

Directions

  1. Cream together sugar, brown sugar, shortening, and peanut butter until smooth.
  2. Beat in egg.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix until combined.
  4. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  6. Roll dough into balls and place on baking sheet. Press with a fork to make the classic crosshatch pattern.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until golden. Let cool on pan.
