Nan's Spaghetti Sauce with Meat

Nan's hearty meat sauce — ground sirloin with celery, garlic, and tomato sauces

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground sirloin
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 6 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp Mazola oil
  • 2 Tbsp crushed garlic
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp pepper
  • 3 large cans tomato sauce
  • 1 large can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan

Directions

  1. In a large pot, heat Mazola oil over medium heat. Sauté onions, celery, and garlic until softened.
  2. Add meat and brown.
  3. After meat is added, season with pepper and salt.
  4. Once meat is brown, add tomato sauces and crushed tomatoes.
  5. Add 1 cup of grated Parmesan. Stir and simmer until flavors meld.
