Meatless String Beans

Virginia Farhat's Lebanese-style green beans simmered with onion, tomato sauce, and Syrian spices

Ingredients

  • 1 medium Vidalia or sweet onion, sliced thin
  • 3 bags frozen thin green beans
  • 28 oz can tomato sauce
  • ΒΌ tsp granulated garlic
  • Β½ tsp Syrian pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Get onions soft on medium heat in a pan with oil to cover bottom of pan.
  2. Add string beans, then cover.
  3. When green beans are steamed through (approximately 6 minutes), add tomato sauce and spices.
Add sliced beef tenderloin for a non-meatless version.
