Humus bi Tahini

Traditional Lebanese hummus — creamy chickpeas with tahini and lemon

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tahini
  • ¾ cup lemon juice (from fresh lemons)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 can (19 oz) chickpeas (garbanzo beans)

Directions

  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas.
  2. Place all ingredients in a food processor.
  3. Process until smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste and adjust salt and lemon as needed.
  5. Chill before serving. Serve with pita bread, drizzled with olive oil if desired.
