Bread Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1¼–1Β½ lbs bread, toasted and cubed (enough to stuff 2 large chickens)
  • 1 stalk celery (bunch), chopped
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 pkg mushrooms
  • 4–5 eggs
  • ΒΌ tsp sage
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Milk (to moisten)

Directions

  1. SautΓ© celery, onion, and mushrooms in butter. Let cool.
  2. Brown and drain sausage. Let cool.
  3. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together β€” make sure dressing is moist.
  4. First try one cup of milk. Add more if not moist enough.
Let both the vegetables and sausage cool before combining to prevent the eggs from cooking prematurely.
