Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750ml) Riesling
- 1 bottle (750ml) Champagne or sparkling wine
- 1 cup fruit — peaches, strawberries, or raspberries
- 1–2 tbsp simple syrup, honey, or sugar
- 1 tbsp Brandy
- Ice
Note: A variation of traditional May Wine (German Maiwein) without the herb sweet woodruff.
Directions
- Combine Riesling, fruit, simple syrup (or sweetener of choice), and Brandy in a large pitcher or punch bowl.
- Chill thoroughly — at least 1 hour.
- Add Champagne or sparkling wine right before serving.
- Pour over ice and serve immediately.
Tip: Add the sparkling wine last and don't stir too much — you want to keep the bubbles.
