Ingredients

  • Lawry's Seasoned Salt
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic salt
  • Dried basil leaves
  • Dried thyme leaves
  • Water (for bottom of roaster)

Directions

  1. Season prime rib generously with Lawry's, salt, pepper, garlic salt, dried basil, and dried thyme. Rub all over the roast.
  2. Put water on the bottom of the roaster to keep the oven moist during cooking.
  3. Cook at 400°F for 20–30 minutes to sear and brown the outside.
  4. Lower heat to 300°F and roast for approximately 2–2½ hours until desired doneness.
  5. Let rest 15–20 minutes before carving. Serve with pan drippings.
Note: For medium-rare, cook to an internal temperature of 130–135°F. The resting time is essential — don't skip it.
