Ingredients
- Lawry's Seasoned Salt
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic salt
- Dried basil leaves
- Dried thyme leaves
- Water (for bottom of roaster)
Directions
- Season prime rib generously with Lawry's, salt, pepper, garlic salt, dried basil, and dried thyme. Rub all over the roast.
- Put water on the bottom of the roaster to keep the oven moist during cooking.
- Cook at 400°F for 20–30 minutes to sear and brown the outside.
- Lower heat to 300°F and roast for approximately 2–2½ hours until desired doneness.
- Let rest 15–20 minutes before carving. Serve with pan drippings.
Note: For medium-rare, cook to an internal temperature of 130–135°F. The resting time is essential — don't skip it.
