Leo's Spaghetti Sauce

Ground beef or turkey simmered with onion, celery, Romano, Parmesan, whole tomatoes, sauce & paste

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Celery, chopped
  • Olive oil (to coat pan)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Dash of oregano
  • Romano cheese, grated
  • Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 large can whole tomatoes
  • 1 large can tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 3 cans water

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook until softened.
  2. Add ground beef (or turkey) and cook through, breaking up the meat.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a dash of oregano.
  4. Add whole tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water. Stir to combine.
  5. Stir in grated Romano and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Simmer on medium-low heat for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving over pasta.
